Infections in Gynaecology

Look for the following clues to solve MCQ's on gynaecological infections:

Candida albicans:
-Scant, WHITE, Curdy or Cottage cheese like discharge
-Itching and burning

Gardnerella vaginalis :
-Moderate vaginitis
-Low-viscous WHITE/GRAY(JIPMER May 2017 had it as milky white)
-FISHY odour
-"Clue-cells" on Wet Mount
-Discharge and odour worse after intercourse.

Trichomonas vaginalis:
-Profuse FROTHY and adherent
-YELLOW/GREEN vaginal discharge
-Strawberry vagina: punctate spots on vaginal vault and cervix

Herpes Simplex Virus:
-Manifests as multiple CLEAR VESICLES on skin of Perineal region.
-Painful and tender.

Neisseria gonorrheae:
-may have associated urethritis
-Also remember that gonococcal urethritis complicates to form urethral strictures.
